Chatham-Kent police have arrested a 35-year-old man who allegedly threw a knife at another man during a dispute. On Sunday at 12:58 a.m., officers responded to a report of an assault after being contacted by an employee at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance. The investigation revealed that a male patient had attended the emergency department seeking medical treatment for injuries sustained during an assault. Police say the victim, a 45-year-old man from Chatham-Kent, reported that an accused, a 35-year-old man from Chatham-Kent threw a knife at him during a physical dispute, which caused injury to the victim’s toe. Officers located and arrested the accused. As a result of the investigation, he was charged with: assault with a weapon and assault causing bodily harm. He was transported to the Chatham-Kent Police Service Headquarters, where he was later released with a scheduled court date of Feb. 9.
