Highway 3 reopens after serious crash

OPP say one person was seriously injured after a crash on Highway 3.

Essex County OPP officers have reopened a section of Highway 3 after a serious crash in Leamington.

Highway 3 from County Road 45 to Morse Sideroad and County Road 31 to County Road 18 were closed by police Monday morning for the investigation.

In an update at approximately 7 p.m., police said the roads had since been reopened to the public.

OPP say three vehicles were involved. One person was initially trapped, but they were extricated and transported to hospital.

Police say it is unknown how many other occupants were in the crash, but injuries were minor for all others.

The investigation is ongoing.
