The most extreme conditions are expected Tuesday, when temperatures are forecast to reach 37 C. Combined with humidity, it will feel closer to 45 C, according to Environment Canada. The hot weather is expected to continue through midweek. Wednesday’s forecast calls for a mix of sun and cloud with a high of 32 C, followed by cloudy periods overnight and a 30 per cent chance of showers. Temperatures are expected to remain above seasonal norms on Thursday, with a mix of sun and cloud and a high of 31 C. Officials are encouraging residents to stay hydrated, limit strenuous outdoor activities during peak heat hours, and check on vulnerable family members, neighbours and pets. People are also advised to seek air-conditioned spaces when possible and watch for signs of heat-related illness.
