Daytime temperatures are expected to reach 30 C, with humidex values climbing to around 38. Skies will become increasingly cloudy through the morning, with a 30 per cent chance of showers late in the morning and early afternoon before steadier rainfall develops later in the day. Environment Canada officials say there is also a risk of a thunderstorm late this afternoon as winds strengthen. The unsettled weather is expected to continue into the evening, with showers tapering off late tonight. However, cloudy conditions will linger along with a 40 per cent chance of additional showers and a risk of thunderstorms early in the evening. The low is expected to fall to 12 C. A noticeable drop in temperatures is expected Wednesday, bringing relief from the heat. The day will be mainly cloudy, with lighter winds shifting northeast at 20 km/h before becoming calm later in the morning. The high will reach 18 C, closer to seasonal values. The remainder of the week will bring a mix of sun and cloud with periods of unsettled weather. Thursday is expected to be sunny with a high of 17 C, followed by clear conditions overnight and a low of 9 C. Cloudier conditions return Friday, with a 60 per cent chance of showers and a high near 18 C. The chance of rain continues Friday night with a low of 12 C.
