18 people displaced after unattended cooking fire

Windsor fire officials say 18 people have been displaced following a fire at a multi-residential structure on Marentette Avenue.

Crews responded around 12:30 p.m. Tuesday to the 600 block of Marentette, near Wyandotte.

The fire started in a kitchen of one of the units and early estimates peg damages at $200,000.

Officials said no injuries were reported.

The cause has been listed as unattended cooking.
