Elderly woman critically injured in Amherstburg crash

An elderly woman is in critical condition following a three-vehicle crash in Amherstburg.

Around 11:30 a.m. on Sunday, police were called to the crash on Front Road North and Kingsbridge Drive.

According to police, a vehicle attempting a left turn entered the path of an oncoming vehicle with the right of way. The impact pushed the turning vehicle into a third vehicle that was stopped at a red light.

The elderly woman, an 80-year-old passenger in the turning vehicle, was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries.

The intersection was closed for several hours while members of the Windsor Police Traffic Reconstruction Unit processed the scene.
