Detroit gears up for PWHL draft

Detroit is preparing for the Professional Women’s Hockey League (PWHL) draft Wednesday night at the Fox Theatre.

Detroit is one of PWHL’s newest franchises but will have a bit of a wait for its first pick. It traded its first-round pick to secure U.S. Olympian Hilary Knight, now picking 15th overall in the second round.

It all begins at 5 p.m. Wednesday as Detroit builds its inaugural roster.
