Commercial vehicle inspection blitz results in 22 charges

A commercial vehicle inspection initiative in Leamington resulted in 22 charges for drivers.

On Thursday, the Essex County OPP Traffic Incident Management Enforcement (TIME) in partnership with the Ministry of Transportation (MTO) conducted a Commercial Motor Vehicle (CMV) traffic inspection on Erie Street South.

During the event, a total of 19 CMV’s were checked resulting in 22 charges, but zero vehicles were placed out of service.

OPP say operating a CMV with major defects can be extremely dangerous to everyone out on the road.
