A large police presence was on Grand Avenue in Chatham, responding to a man threatening police and barricading himself in his residence on Saturday. After seven hours of negotiating, police were able to enter the residence and arrest the male. He remains in custody and has been charged with uttering threats. No injuries were reported from the incident, and police say the investigation wasn’t a threat to the public. The public was warned to stay away from the area between Keil Drive and Collegiate, but the area is now clear.
