Chatham grandfather wins $100,000 with Instant Bingo Doubler

A Chatham grandpa says he’s going to share his $100,000 lottery win with family.

Robert Dubé of Chatham won a $100,000 top prize with Instant Bingo Doubler.

The retiree is a longtime lottery player with OLG. He especially enjoys playing instant tickets, with his favourite game being Instant Bingo.

The 82-year-old is shared the story of his first major win. It was around 8:30 p.m. when Robert called his daughter, asking her to come over and check his ticket.

“I wasn’t sure whether I’d gotten all the numbers,” he said while at the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto to collect his windfall. “When my daughter came over and confirmed my win, she was overwhelmed with happiness and cried tears of joy.”

Robert broke the exciting news to some other family members.

“They were all thrilled for me and said I deserve this,” he said. “This win feels surreal!”

The father of three and grandfather of three plans to share his windfall with family. Dube is also looking forward to continuing his passion for building homes out of Lego, as it is a hobby that brings him joy.

The winning ticket was purchased at Lucky 7 Variety on McNaughton Avenue West in Chatham.
