$1.9 million invested to renew Tecumseh infrastructure

The Ontario government has announced an investment of $1,968,740 to help renew and rehabilitate infrastructure in Tecumseh.

The funding is granted through the 2026 Ontario Community Infrastructure Fund (OCIF).

“Our government’s investment in Tecumseh’s infrastructure is a commitment to the long-term well-being of our community,” said Andrew Dowie, MPP for Windsor-Tecumseh.

“This nearly $2 million in OCIF funding will help improve vital infrastructure – ensuring it remains safe, reliable, and ready to support growth. It’s about making sure Tecumseh continues to be a place where families can live, work, and thrive for years to come.”

$400 million will be given out through 2026 to 423 small, rural, and northern communities, addressing critical infrastructure.

“I’m pleased that our government recognizes the importance of supporting critical infrastructure to ensure that Tecumseh remains a resilient and vibrant community,” said Mayor Gary McNamara.

“This funding supports the town’s strategic priorities, helping us address key infrastructure needs, such as roadways, stormwater management, and other critical projects that maintain current service levels and provide for growth. I want to thank the Ontario government for investing in Tecumseh’s future and their continued recognition of our efforts. This investment allows us to keep building a strong and sustainable community for all our residents.”
