The Windsor International Film Festival (WIFF) announced 10 new titles for the upcoming festival this fall. The newly announced films include performances from Juliette Binoche (Queen at Sea), Ethan Hawke and Russell Crowe (The Weight), and Gemma Chan and Channing Tatum (Josephine). A WIFF favourite, director Lukas Dhont (Close), is back with his latest film Coward. Jordan Firstman’s (I Love LA, Rotting in the Sun) directorial debut, Club Kid, was a hit at Cannes and Telluride this year. Another festival favourite and major film for 2026 is Minotaur, directed by Andrey Zvyagintsev. The film was a standout for many, including WIFF’s Executive Director and Chief Programmer Vincent Georgie when he attended Cannes earlier this year. “It’s been a thrill to see the excitement as we slowly reveal the programming for WIFF 2026. Here are ten more films for you to dig into and to add to your festival schedules,” said Georgie. “And for local filmmakers and actors, now is the time to make sure the Industry Conference is in your calendar. We have great industry experts to share with you.” To kick off WIFF Local programming, WIFF will be screening Plan C directed by University of Windsor alumnus Scott Anthony Cavalheiro. Much of the crime comedy was shot locally, and was created by many local actors, crew, and producers. Georgie says WIFF showcases the most Francophone programming in the country, and to kick off the Francophone slate this year is Comédie-Française, a delightful comedy from France. And from Italy, WIFF presents Brunello: The Gracious Visionary, a documentary film highlighting the life of Brunello Cucinelli. Industry conference WIFF announced that passes for the annual WIFF Industry Conference are now available. Taking place during the opening weekend of WIFF 2026, the Industry Conference will feature a variety of workshops and panels, offering an opportunity for local and emerging filmmakers to engage with industry professionals from across Canada. Until Sept. 22, early bird pricing for the Industry Pass is available. The full schedule of Industry programming will be announced in the coming weeks. Tickets for these films are available online now, as well as festival and industry passes, general ticket 10-packs, and premium ticket 3-packs. WIFF 2026 will run from Thursday, Oct. 29 to Sunday, Nov. 8, 2026. The 2026 festival is presented by the Toldo Foundation. Funding is provided by Telefilm Canada and the Government of Ontario. This event has been financially assisted by the Ontario Cultural Attractions Fund, a program of the Government of Ontario through the Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Gaming, administered by the Ontario Cultural Attractions Fund Corporation. The full festival lineup will be revealed on Tuesday, Sept. 22, with all tickets going on sale the same day.
