Mounties say two people drove a truck through the wall of a business and attempted to tow out an ATM early Tuesday morning in Kamloops, but ultimately were unsuccessful. Kamloops RCMP said they were called to the 800 block of Desmond Street just after 3:30 a.m. with reports of a maroon Ford F-350 being involved in a break-and-enter in which a building’s wall was rammed through, and two people attempted to tie a rope around an ATM. Cpl. Dana Napier said officers saw the same truck travelling east on the East Trans Canada Highway towards Barnhartvale and used a drone to pinpoint the vehicle but lost its location. Mounties said one person who entered the business after the truck rammed through the wall was arrested, but they “did not appear to be associated with the break-in.” Police said they have not found the two suspects and are appealing to the public for information. Kamloops RCMP are urging anyone with dash cam video from the Barnhartvale area or along the Trans Canada Highway that captured video of a maroon Ford F-350 with rear-end damage, or anyone who witnessed it, to call the detachment at 250-828-3000 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 if they would like to remain anonymous, and quote file 2026-33599.
