Teenager arrested after pellet gun shootings in Abbotsford

Police have arrested a teenager suspected of being involved in five pellet gun incidents that left one person with injuries.

Police in Abbotsford say they have arrested a teenage suspect in connection with a series of drive-by pellet gun shootings earlier this week.

On Wednesday evening, the Abbotsford Police Department received five reports from victims saying a white vehicle approached them, “followed by either the visible production of a firearm from within the vehicle or the sound of shots being fired in their direction.”

One person sustained a minor injury from being struck by pellets, according to police.

On Friday evening, police said they had arrested the 17-year-old driver of the suspect vehicle.

Police said the teenager’s parents are co-operating with the investigation, which is ongoing.

“The Abbotsford Police Department extends its sincere thanks to the public and media for their valuable assistance, which played a key role in the swift apprehension of the suspect,” the update reads.
