What is miraDry treatment? Dr. Christopher Pavlou from Skin technique explains how miraDry treatment works.

We are in the heart of the summer season, which made for good timing for the CTV Morning Live crew to catch up with Dr. Pavlou of Skin Technique.

During our time on the morning show, he shared some of the latest innovative treatments, tips to get bridal ready and celebrity secrets.

The first innovative treatment Dr. Pavlou chatted about was miraDry. Being the summer, sweating is something that is unavoidable.

When it comes to underarm sweat it can generally be associated with feelings of stress and anxiety, especially when sweat shows on clothing and body odour occurs.

Dr. Pavlou explained that miraDry is an FDA-cleared non-surgical treatment that permanently reduces underarm sweat, odour and hair in as little as one treatment. Thermal energy is used to heat up the sweat glands and eliminate them.

One of the main questions Dr. Pavlou gets about the treatment is in regards to the body's need for sweat glands. He shared that although it is necessary for your body to cool itself, your body has two to four million sweat glands and only about two per cent are found in your underarms.

After learning about miraDry, the topic changed to wedding season.
