Recognize this man? Surrey bank robbery suspect sought by police

Police in Surrey are asking the public to help identify a man they say robbed a bank Friday morning, making off with an “undisclosed amount of money.”

Officers were called to the bank near King George SkyTrain Station around 9:45 a.m., according to the Surrey Police Service.

“It was reported that a male suspect entered the bank, approached a customer service representative, and demanded money,” a statement from the department said.

The man had left the scene by the time police arrived and was last seen on foot crossing Whalley Boulevard at Fraser Highway, police added.

A photo of the suspect was released Saturday, and authorities are asking anyone who recognizes the man to contact investigators. Anyone with information or video who has not yet spoken to police is also urged to call at 604-599-0502 and quote file number 25-66768.
