RCMP seek information, video, after early morning assault in Kamloops, B.C.

The Kamloops RCMP were called to Notre Dame Drive in the early hours of Sept. 27.

A man is in hospital in critical condition and police are investigating after an alleged aggravated assault in Kamloops, B.C., in the early hours of Saturday morning.

Mounties were called to the 700 block of Notre Dame Drive just after 5 a.m. and arrived to find a 39-year-old man with a serious injury, the Kamloops RCMP said in a statement Saturday.

The man was taken to hospital in critical condition, where he remains.

“Kamloops RCMP Detachment Serious Crime, General Investigation and Forensic officers are assisting frontline investigators in the initial evidence gathering stage,” said Sgt. Janelle Shoihet, in the statement.

“We are asking anyone who may have been traveling near the bus stop on Notre Dame at Laval Crescent just after 5 a.m. this morning, and may have been a witness to the incident, to call police.”

Anyone with CCTV video in the area or with information regarding the incident is asked to call the Kamloops RCMP Detachment at 250-828-3000 and cite file number 2025-32253.
