Pedestrian injured in Port Moody hit-and-run, police say

Police in Port Moody are looking for witnesses as they investigate a hit-and-run crash involving a pedestrian.

The incident occurred Monday night around 7:30 p.m., the Port Moody Police Department said in a statement Tuesday.

The victim was walking in a marked crosswalk at the intersection of Guildford Way and Ioco Road when they were struck by a “grey sedan,” the department said.

The driver did not remain at the scene after the collision, and the suspect vehicle was last seen southbound on Ioco Road, according to police.

The pedestrian was taken to hospital with serious, but non-life-threatening, injuries, police said.

They added that no further details about the suspect vehicle had been provided.

“We are appealing for any potential witnesses or anyone with dash camera footage in the area to come forward to aid our investigation,” said Const. Sam Zacharias, in the release.
