Motorcyclist dead after crash on Alex Fraser Bridge

Speed and alcohol have not been ruled out as factors in a crash that left a motorcyclist dead in Delta Saturday night, according to authorities.

First responders were called to the northbound lanes of the Alex Fraser Bridge around 10 p.m. after the motorcycle driver reportedly crashed into a semi-truck, the Delta Police Department said in a statement.

“The 31-year-old male driver of the motorcycle was pronounced dead on scene,” the statement said, adding that the investigation into the collision is ongoing.

The Alex Fraser Bridge was closed while police were on scene but fully re-opened around 6:30 a.m. Sunday.

Anyone who witnessed the crash or has dash-cam video from the bridge captured between 9:45 and 10:15 p.m. is urged to call 604-946-4411.
