One person is dead following a police officer-involved shooting in Abbotsford, B.C. The shooting happened early Monday morning at the Petro-Pass Truck Stop on Matsqui Place near the Trans-Canada Highway. However, the victim was later found several kilometres away. “The suspect vehicle, along with one deceased male, was later located in Aldergrove,” Sgt. Paul Walker of the Abbotsford Police Department said in a statement. Police have cordoned off an area near 272 Street and 30 Avenue in Aldergrove. “There is no ongoing risk to public safety in the Aldergrove area,” Walker said. “The Aldergrove scene represents the final location associated with an incident that originated in Abbotsford.” The Independent Investigations Office of B.C., which investigates police-related incidents that result in serious harm or death in the province, is expected to release a statement on the incident later Monday.
