‘I miss you’: An update from CTV weather host Marke Driesschen

Our long-time morning weather host on CTV Vancouver is sharing an update about his health situation.

Months after suffering a serious head injury, CTV weather host Marke Driesschen wants viewers to know he’s feeling “better and better every day.”

Driesschen shared the update on his recovery in a video message that aired Monday on CTV Your Morning Vancouver, our new-look morning show.

“I miss you,” Driesschen said. “I miss my family at CTV.”

He also shared more details on his injury, which happened at the end of March and left him hospitalized for months.

“I had bleeding on both sides of my brain, I had a small skull fracture and also a fractured nose,” Driesschen said.

He was released from hospital in early June, and has been in intensive outpatient rehabilitation therapy ever since.

While he’s still not fully recovered, Driesschen, who has been with the station since 2006, said he’s looking forward to getting back on the air.

“I will be back on CTV,” he said. “Real soon.”
