Motorists are being advised of traffic disruptions and road closures in Surrey as police investigate a collision that hospitalized a pedestrian earlier this evening. Officers were called to the intersection of King George Boulevard and 40 Avenue just after 6 p.m. after a female pedestrian was struck by a vehicle, the Surrey Police Service said in a statement. The woman was transported to hospital in critical condition, while the driver of the vehicle remained at the scene and co-operated with police. While other vehicles were involved in minor collisions as a result of the incident, no other injuries were reported, police said. Commuters in the area are advised to prepare for closures of the northbound lanes of King George Boulevard, at the 40 Avenue intersection.
