Two people were found dead after flames ripped through an RV in B.C.'s Kootenay region on Tuesday. Trail and Greater District RCMP were called to the scene in the area of 7 Mile Dam, where local firefighters were battling the blaze. Mounties said the RV was parked in a remote location and it was unclear at the time if anyone was inside. “Kootenay Boundary Fire Rescue crews attended, extinguished the fire and prevented it from spreading to the surrounding forested area,” Mounties said in a news release Wednesday. “During their examination of the scene, responders located two deceased individuals within the fire debris.” Mounties said the fire is not believed to be suspicious in nature and the investigation has now been handed over to the B.C. Coroners Service. The identities of the victims have not been released at this time. “This is a deeply tragic incident and our thoughts are with the families and loved ones of those who lost their lives,” Cpl. Brett Urano said in the release. “We also want to acknowledge the efforts of the fire crews who prevented further damage in what could have become a larger wildfire situation.”
