Charges laid after shots fired into Surrey home, injuring 1

Charges have been laid against the man accused of firing several shots into a home in Surrey and injuring a resident last November, police announced Friday.

The incident occurred on Nov. 23, 2025, just after 9 p.m. near 121 Street and 101B Avenue. Police say a woman who lived in the home was shot in the thigh.

Her injuries were described as non-life-threatening. Several other people were also inside at the time but were not hurt.

The SPS told CTV News the shooting was not extortion-related and the suspect knew the people who live in the home.

Over the course of the investigation, the Surrey Police Service says they identified a suspect and vehicle involved, and seized a number of vehicles associated with him.

Police say they found the firearm used in the shooting in one of the vehicles.

The suspect was found near Ontario Street and West 33 Avenue in Vancouver on Wednesday and was arrested with help from the heavily armed Emergency Response Team and police dogs.

Ashnil Bobby Singh, 31, now faces six charges.

They include discharging a firearm into a place and using a firearm while committing an indictable offence, and charges for possession of a firearm for a dangerous purpose, with an altered serial number, without a licence, and while prohibited from doing so.

Singh remained in custody Friday. The SPS asked anyone with information about him to call 604-599-0502 or Crime Stoppers.
