Highway 11 was closed in both directions in Abbotsford for about an hour Saturday afternoon because a bull on the loose was blocking the road. In a social media post just before 1 p.m., the Abbotsford Police Department said first responders were on scene to ensure public safety and had closed off Highway 11 between McCallum and Bateman roads. The department asked drivers to avoid the area to make room for emergency vehicles. “We’re currently working with the farmer to resolve the situation,” the post read. Just before 2 p.m., police said in an update that a local veterinarian tranquilized the bull, adding the animal was uninjured. Crews loaded the bull into a trailer and the highway fully reopened shortly after.
