Break-ins prompt warning from Port Moody police

The Port Moody Police Department shared this photo to social media along with a warning about recent break-ins.

Police in Port Moody are warning residents in the Heritage Woods neighbourhood about a recent rash of break-ins.

Authorities say they have received three similar reports in the past two weeks.

“In all instances, the homes have backed onto forested pathways/trails, entry was made through the rear patio door and jewelry was stolen,” a social media post from the Port Moody Police Department Saturday said.

Patrols in the area are being stepped up, while residents are being urged to report suspicious activity and to consider taking extra precautions to protect their homes by increasing lighting, reinforcing door and window locks and setting up cameras or alarms.
