Dozens of BC Ferries sailings cancelled

BC Ferries sailings on all major routes between the Lower Mainland and Vancouver Island were cancelled Monday—leaving thousands of would-be travellers stuck.

Dozens of BC Ferries sailings on the major routes connecting the Lower Mainland and Vancouver Island were cancelled Monday.

The company said the move was necessary to ensure safety in light of weather warnings from Environment Canada.

“We know you have important places to be. We are currently monitoring the weather conditions with the goal of getting you underway as soon as it’s safe to do so,” service notices from BC Ferries said.

“If conditions do not improve, additional sailings may need to be cancelled and we will let you know if that happens.”
