B.C. couple trying to ‘make good decisions’ after $500K lottery win

Two of B.C.’s latest lottery winners say they’re trying to “make good decisions” after taking home $500,000 playing the Extra.

Port Coquitlam residents Sang Eun Lee and Myung Jun Kim purchased their lucky Lotto Max ticket from a kiosk at Coquitlam Centre mall.

They said yes to the Extra and matched all four numbers in the Oct. 21 draw, scoring half a million dollars.

“I didn’t believe my eyes,” Lee said in a B.C. Lottery Corporation release. “My husband was at the gym and I had him come home to show him.”

The couple told the BCLC they won’t be rushing into any big purchases with their unexpected windfall.

“We are trying to stay calm and make good decisions,” said Kim.

According to the BCLC, the odds of matching four out of four Extra numbers is approximately one in 3.76 million.
