Mounties say a man attempted bank fraud in two B.C. cities using two different aliases in two separate incidents earlier this month. Police explain they were contacted by a bank in Mission on Aug. 5, when a man attempted to open a bank account under the name Donald Chjarboneau using a Canadian passport and an Indian Status card with his photo on them—both of which were determined to be fake after staff noticed the passport had mismatched pages and both documents were missing security features. Mission RCMP say staff informed them the same man produced forged documents at a bank in Abbotsford under the name Claude Savage a day prior. Police are appealing to the public in hopes that someone recognizes him. “If you can identify this man, or have had a similar experience with him, please call Mission RCMP at 604-826-7161, file 2026-10284,” reads a release from Mission RCMP.
