Accused pleads guilty in fatal 2022 shooting of David Goldstein

Three years after David Goldstein was gunned down in Surrey, B.C., his accused killer has pleaded guilty to manslaughter.

Bryce Dallas Campbell was charged with first-degree murder in Goldstein’s death, but pleaded to the lesser charge Thursday in B.C. Supreme Court.

In a statement, Sgt. Freda Fong of the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team said the conviction was secured in part thanks to “the persistence shown by the investigators” in the case.

“It is our hope that today’s proceedings will help the victim’s family in their healing journey. We are grateful for their trust and support throughout this investigation,” Fong said.

Surrey RCMP found Goldstein critically injured after responding to a shooting near 24 Avenue and 152A Street in the early morning hours of April 6, 2022.

The White Rock resident was taken to hospital, but succumbed to his injuries two days later. He was 33 years old.

At the time, IHIT said the shooting did not appear random, but that it was not related to the Lower Mainland’s bloody gang conflict.
