Temperature reaches 11 C as Toronto enjoys warmest day since November

The temperature reached 11 C in Toronto on Monday afternoon, making it the warmest day the city has seen so far this year.

The daytime high was recorded at Pearson International Airport just after 3 p.m.

The last time Toronto saw a temperature of 11 C or above was more than four months ago on Nov. 8 (13 C).

The last time Toronto even saw a daytime high in the double digits was on Dec. 29 (10.3 C).

The mild conditions aren’t going anywhere either, at least right away.

The temperature is expected to rise to 12 C on Tuesday, although showers are possible late in the afternoon.

CP24 Meteorologist Bill Coulter said the city is in for a “bit of a temperature rollercoaster” midweek.

The temperature is expected to dip down to a high of 2 C on Wednesday, although sunny skies are likely.

On Thursday, the daytime high is expected to climb back up to 11 C before jumping to 16 C on Friday, according to models by Environment Canada.

“We have not seen a lot of double digit temperatures,” Coulter said.

Mild but rainy weather is in the forecast for Toronto this weekend, with daytime highs of 12 C and 9 C on Saturday and Sunday respectively.

The typical daytime high at this time of year is 4 C.
