A 24-year-old from the United Kingdom is facing charges in connection with an armed carjacking in Mississauga last year. The incident happened on the afternoon of Feb. 4, 2025, in the area of Torbram Road and Derry Road East, located near Toronto Pearson Airport. Peel Regional Police said the victim was parked in his commercial vehicle at that time when two masked suspects approached him with handguns. The suspects allegedly pointed the guns at the victim and forced him out of the vehicle. Investigators believe Raheem Hartley is one of the individuals responsible for the carjacking, and learned shortly after the incident that he fled Canada. Police issued a Canada-wide warrant for his arrest in December that year. Earlier this month, on July 16, police said Hartley arrived in Toronto on an international flight and was arrested once he landed. In a news release issued Friday, police charged Hartley, of the United Kingdom, with three offences, including robbery. The allegations against him have not been tested in court. Police are asking anyone with additional information to contact them or Crime Stoppers anonymously.
