Ottawa paramedics say a man is in critical condition after suffering a medical incident behind the wheel of a vehicle on Wednesday afternoon. First responders were called to Ramsayville Road near Piperville Road at approximately 4:45 p.m., according to Ottawa Paramedic Service spokesperson Marc-Antoine Deschamps. The driver swerved off the road and into a ditch, Deschamps said. He was taken to hospital where he remains in critical, life-threatening condition. A passenger inside the vehicle, an adult female, suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to hospital in stable condition. Ramsayville Road remains closed from Leitrim Road to Piperville Road, according to Ottawa police. Drivers are being asked to avoid the area.
