Toronto police ask help identifying man fatally struck by vehicle, release sketch

Toronto police have released a composite sketch of a pedestrian fatally struck by a vehicle on Sunday as they try to identify him.

Police say the pedestrian was crossing Eglinton Avenue West near Old Park Road on May 31 before 1:19 a.m. when he was struck by a westbound Honda Accord.

The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene, police say.

The 23-year-old driver of the Honda, police say, remained.

In a news release on Friday, police said they are still trying to identify the pedestrian, who is described as a Black man, six feet tall, with a slim build, a long grey beard, and long dreadlocks.

Police said he was wearing a red toque, a black Adidas tracksuit jacket with a German football logo, and a blue hooded winter jacket underneath.
