Some lanes reopen on Toronto-bound QEW in Mississauga after crash

A crash in the Toronto-bound lanes of the QEW in Mississauga closed the highway at Hurontario Street this morning.

Some Toronto-bound lanes of the Queen Elizabeth Way have reopened this morning in Mississauga after a truck crash closed the highway.

The collision occurred shortly after 3 a.m. near Cawthra Road.

Police say a crash truck was doing road maintenance when a cube truck drove into the back of the vehicle.

A careless driving charge has been laid in relation to the incident, police confirm.

No one was seriously injured.

The exit to Cawthra Road and the right lane are expected to be closed for the next couple of hours as crews clean up a diesel spill that followed the crash.
