Police are searching for a man who was allegedly seen loitering with a firearm in North York on Friday afternoon. Toronto police said they were called to the area of Yonge Street and Empress Avenue just before 1:10 p.m. for reports of a suspicious incident. According to police, a man was seen “accessing” a gun from inside his jacket before putting the firearm into a backpack and fleeing the area by bicycle. Police described the man as being between 25 and 40 years old, who was seen wearing a black balaclava with a white Nike symbol above the left eye and all black clothes at the time. They add he was also carrying a black backpack. Toronto police urge the public to not to approach him if spotted, and to call them immediately.
