Man in his 60s dead after being struck by vehicle in Mississauga

A man in his 60s has died after being struck by a vehicle in Mississauga late Friday night, Peel police say.

Officers responded to the collision near Mississauga Road and Meadowvale Boulevard at around 11:50 p.m., officials wrote to social media.

In a statement to CP24, police said a white Nissan SUV driving southbound on Mississauga Road from Highway 407 struck a pedestrian who was crossing mid-block.

The driver remained on scene and attempted to render aid. However, the pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene.

Peel police say the Major Collision Bureau has taken over the investigation.

The scene has since been cleared, and there is no word of charges at this time.
