Karis Mapp
Multi-Skilled Journalist, CTV News Kitchener
Karis Mapp grew up in Waterloo Region and graduated from the College of Sports Media in Toronto. She has reported for CTV News Kitchener, CBC K-W and CityNews 570. Karis has a passion for local sports and was previously the in-arena host for the Guelph Storm and did live commentary for the men’s and women’s volleyball teams at the University of Waterloo. She also co-hosted the online YouTube series “NBL Canada This Week” for the National Basketball League of Canada (now known as the Basketball Super League or BSL) and worked with CBC Sports during their coverage of the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo. Karis re-joined the CTV Kitchener team as a Multi-Skilled Journalist in May 2025. Fun facts: Karis used to be a competitive volleyball player. She is also a classically trained pianist and an avid fly angler, but only goes out on the water with her husband Andrew.
