NHL scores: Wild beat Chicago 6-1 in outdoor game

MINNEAPOLIS - Jason Pominville and Erik Haula each had a goal and two assists, and the Minnesota Wild celebrated the first outdoor game in franchise history with a 6-1 victory on Sunday over the Chicago Blackhawks.

In front of a crowd of 50,426 at TCF Bank Stadium on the University of Minnesota campus with an ideal faceoff temperature of 35 degrees, the Wild turned the NHL's 17th edition of open-air hockey into a romp past their post-season nemesis and primary rival.

The Blackhawks pulled goalie Corey Crawford for Scott Darling after 19 saves in two periods. Nino Niederreiter and Ryan Carter each added a goal and an assist, and Matt Dumba and Thomas Vanek also scored.

Patrick Kane ended Devan Dubnyk's shutout pursuit with his Western Conference-leading 35th goal midway through the third period. Dubnyk stopped 31 shots.

RANGERS 1, RED WINGS 0, OT

NEW YORK - Kevin Klein scored on a 2-on-1 break at 1:59 of overtime and New York spoiled a magnificent effort by Detroit goalie Jimmy Howard.

Henrik Lundqvist made 22 saves in his fourth shutout and helped the Rangers win for the seventh time in nine games (7-1-1).

Howard stopped 29 shots as the Red Wings lost their sixth straight road game, their longest skid since March 2012. He forced overtime with a save on a penalty shot by Jesper Fast with 5:25 left in regulation and then a sliding pad save on Fast in close with 3:45 to go.

PENGUINS 4, SABRES 3

BUFFALO, N.Y. - Rookie Scott Wilson sparked a two-goal second period and extended his goal streak to three games in leading Pittsburgh over Buffalo.

The Penguins beat Buffalo for the eighth straight time and also got goals from Patric Hornqvist, Phil Kessel and Matt Cullen, who scored on a short-handed breakaway in the third period.

Kris Letang had three assists and Marc-Andre Fleury stopped 24 shots in returning after missing a game due to illness.

Zach Bogosian scored twice, and added an assist, and Brian Gionta had a goal and assist for Buffalo, which had a 3-0-1 streak snapped. Bogosian's second goal came with 22 seconds left and Buffalo's net empty.

DUCKS 5, FLAMES 2

ANAHEIM, Calif. - Ryan Kesler had two goals and an assist, John Gibson made 22 saves and Anaheim returned from a long road trip to beat Calgary for its fifth consecutive victory.

Anaheim captain Ryan Getzlaf extended his point streak to eight games with a third-period goal for the streaking Ducks, who have won 12 of 14 to improve to 19-4-2 since Christmas. Anaheim also trimmed Los Angeles' lead to two points atop the Pacific Division.

Patrick Maroon and Kevin Bieksa also had power-play goals as Anaheim beat the Flames at home for the 22nd consecutive time.

Calgary captain Mark Giordano scored his career-best 15th goal and former Ducks goalie Jonas Hiller stopped 28 shots for the Flames, who have lost four of five. Mikael Backlund added a last-minute goal for Calgary, which hasn't won a regular-season game at Honda Center since Jan. 19, 2004.

LIGHTNING 4, HURRICANES 2

RALEIGH, N.C. - Ryan Callahan scored twice and Steven Stamkos had a goal and an assist to propel Tampa Bay past Carolina for its third straight win.

Stamkos put the Lightning ahead 3-2 on a power play with 5:43 left, and Callahan added an empty-netter with less than 10 seconds remaining.

Ben Bishop made 29 saves and improved to 6-1 in his career against Carolina. J.T. Brown also scored for the Lightning.

Joakim Nordstrom and Michal Jordan scored for the Hurricanes.

CANUCKS 5, AVALANCHE 1

VANCOUVER, British Columbia - Jannik Hansen scored twice, Ryan Miller made 37 saves and Vancouver beat Colorado to snap a four-game skid.

Adam Cracknell, Radim Vrbata and Christopher Tanev also scored for Vancouver. Henrik Sedin had four assists and Daniel Sedin had three assists.

The Canucks were 0-5-1 over their last six at Rogers Arena.

Semyon Varlamov stopped 23 shots, and the Avalanche ended a two-game winning streak. Matt Duchene scored with 42 seconds left for Colorado.
