Saskatoon man with a history of spying on women arrested again hours after his release

Saskatoon Police Service is alerting the public about the upcoming release of a man with a lengthy record of voyeurism and related offences. Stacey Hein reports

A Saskatoon man with a long history of voyeurism and other related offences was arrested on the same day he was released from custody.

Kyle Ronald Hameluck, who has been convicted of 70 offences including voyeurism, indecent acts and trespassing at night, was released from the Saskatoon Provincial Correctional Centre on Feb. 14.

Police had issued a public advisory ahead of his release due to concerns he may reoffend.

In an update on Sunday, Saskatoon police said Hameluck was arrested that evening in the 200 block of 1st Avenue South after officers found he was breaching the conditions of his release.

Hameluck was convicted of voyeurism in 2017 and 2020, and again last fall after pleading guilty to 23 counts of voyeurism and two counts of breaching probation.

He was sentenced to two years and 10 months, though credit for time served left him with about seven months remaining.

His sentence was one of the longest handed down for voyeurism alone, and at the time Crown prosecutors noted there is little case law involving repeat voyeurism offenders.

Under his release conditions, Hameluck must remain inside an approved residence between 9 p.m. and 6 a.m., is prohibited from possessing non‑prescribed drugs, and is banned from owning a cellphone or any device capable of taking photos or videos.

He is also barred from contacting any previous victims.

Police released his name and photo ahead of his release out of an “abundance of caution.”

Hameluck is scheduled to appear in Saskatoon Provincial Court on Tuesday, Feb. 17.
