The Saskatoon Mamba will be the ‘home team’ July 3 when they battle the Calgary Surge, but the game won’t be played in Saskatoon. The Mamba will face the Surge in Whitehorse, Yukon, as part of the inaugural Snowline Gold 2026 REAL North Classic. The event is expected to include community programming through the Canada Day Weekend, including a 3x3 tournament, coaches clinic, youth basketball camp, Indigenous storytelling moments and more. “The Snowline Gold 2026 REAL North Classic is exactly the kind of bold, landmark moment we want to create for Canadian basketball, Canadian companies, and our incredible Canadian fans,” said Ty Mazereeuw, President & CEO of the CEBL. “Our entire league is proud to help make history alongside REAL and the Yukon community.” The CEBL game — which will count as an official regular-season game between the teams — is the first regular-season professional basketball game in Canada’s Territories. “Events like the Snowline Gold 2026 REAL North Classic show what is possible when Canadian sports and live events operators, orders of government, and commercial and non-profit stakeholders work together with a shared vision to build tourism, economic, and community-building value,” said Jason Ribeiro, Co-Chairman & President of REAL Entertainment & Culture Inc. Tip-off is set for 6:30 p.m. local time July 3. The game is expected to be shown nationally through CEBL broadcast partners.
