Saskatoon garage fire causes power pole to fall

An early-morning garage fire destroyed a vehicle and caused a nearby power line to fall and arc on Thursday.

Firefighters were called to the 1300 block of 23^rd Street west around 3:35 a.m. They arrived to find smoke and flames coming from a detached garage.

A single vehicle was inside the garage. Fire crews extinguished the blaze, and Saskatoon Light & Power repaired the fallen power line.

There were no injuries to report.

A fire investigator is working to identify the cause, origin, and damage estimate.
