Team Saskatchewan wins gold at 2026 U18 Curling Championship

Team Saskatchewan, skipped by Renée Wood, won the women’s event at the 2026 Canadian U18 Curling Championships in Timmins, Ont.

The team from the Sutherland Curling Club in Saskatoon finished the week with an 8-1 record and earned an 8-3 win over Team Ontario 1 in Saturday’s final.

The team displayed exceptional control and strategic execution from the opening end, clinching the championship in a decisive victory.

Wood’s rink includes third Edie Jardine, second Amelia Whiting, lead Winnie Morin, alternate Abby Hogeboom and coach Dwayne Yachiw.

The win is Saskatchewan’s first women’s gold medal since the U18 nationals began in 2017.

The province’s only other medal in the event was a silver in 2018.
