Saskatoon police arrested three people after a standoff at a gas station on 22nd Street West.

Saskatoon police arrested three people following a standoff outside a gas station on 22nd Street West on Friday morning.

The group caught the attention of patrol officers just after 11 a.m., when they noticed a vehicle that had been reported as stolen was parked at the Esso gas station around 22nd Street and Avenue H with two people inside, Saskatoon police said in a news release.

More officers arrived and police surrounded the vehicle, calling on the occupants to get out.

According to police, they refused to comply and a “less-lethal weapon” was used to break the windows. The move prompted one person to get out of the car and they were arrested.

The second person exited the vehicle shortly after, but police say they remained uncompliant and officers used the less-lethal weapon again to gain control of the situation and make the arrest.

In video shared with CTV News, a person can be seen getting out of the passenger side of a white Jeep and taking several steps before police fire something at them, striking them firmly in the chest.

They can seen collapsing to the ground as multiple officers move in, dragging them away from the vehicle.

Police say a third person was arrested without incident inside the store.

The Saskatoon police say charges against the suspects, two men and a woman between 28 and 35-years-old, are pending as police continue to investigate.
