Pizza and meth? Sask. RCMP officers find suspected drugs in pizza box

Battlefords RCMP made a curious discovery over the weekend as officers discovered a notable quantity of suspected narcotics in a pizza box of all places.

On March 28, Battlefords RCMP stopped a vehicle in the community in relation to an ongoing investigation by Unity RCMP.

The man and woman inside the vehicle at the time were arrested.

The vehicle was towed to a police facility and “thoroughly” searched by officers.

They discovered approximately 126 grams of suspected methamphetamine hidden inside a pizza box in the vehicle.

The substances are undergoing further testing.

As a result, a 70-year-old man from Wilkie and a 26-year-old woman from North Battleford have each been charged with one count of possession for the purpose of trafficking methamphetamine.

Both of the accused made their first appearance on their charges in North Battleford Provincial Court on Monday, March 30.
