‘Licence to heal’: Radiothon underway for Sask. children’s hospital

A province-wide radiothon is underway to raise money for the Jim Pattison Children’s Hospital (JPCH).

Nov. 5 and 6 listeners can tune in to 33 radio stations across Saskatchewan to hear heartfelt stories from children, families and medical professionals.

This year’s theme, Project OO: License to Heal, supports pediatric otology and otolaryngology care.

The funds will upgrade sound booths, improve cochlear implant services and attract specialized staff.

“Every child deserves the chance to hear, to speak and to connect with the world around them,” explained CEO of JPCH Troy Davies.

“Project OO: Licence to Heal is about giving that gift of connection, through sound, communication, and care, to children across Saskatchewan.”

The David and Karen Holst Family Foundation is matching donations up to $200,000.

More than 85,000 children and expectant mothers visit the hospital each year.
