The search is for an inmate who did not return to the Saskatchewan Penitentiary over the long weekend after being granted a temporary absence has ended. On Sept. 7, 53-year-old inmate Scott Sargefield didn’t return to facility’s minimum-security unit following an authorized temporary absence. In an updated news release, the Correctional Service of Canada (CSC) says he was caught Sept. 8 by Saskatoon police. He’s serving a sentence of a little over two years for theft over $5,000 and uttering threats of death/harm. CSC says it and the Saskatchewan Penitentiary will conduct into an investigation into Sargefield’s escape.
