Vincent Massey Secondary school was closed on Tuesday due to a water main break. ENWIN, on behalf of the Windsor Utilities Commission says the repairs to a watermain break on Liberty Street between Glenwood Avenue and Charlevoix Avenue, have been completed. Administration at Vincent Massey Public School discovered a City of Windsor water main break in front of the school Tuesday morning, according to a post from the Greater Essex County District School Board. As a result, essential services in the building were not functioning, requiring the school to close for the day. “We began the morning hopeful that the issue could be resolved in time for regular classes to continue. However, we have since confirmed with ENWIN that repairs will not be completed in time for the school to reopen today,” said the board’s social media post on Tuesday. Tuesday was supposed to be the first day back to school. “While this is certainly not the first day of school we had hoped for our students and families at Massey, we look forward to welcoming everyone back tomorrow and starting the school year together,” said the GECDSB.
