A man in his 20s has died after a collision with the driver of a vehicle in Toronto’s east end on Tuesday afternoon. The crash happened just after 2 p.m. at the intersection of Bertrand Avenue and Crockford Boulevard in Scarborough’s Wexford-Maryvale neighbourhood. Toronto police said they responded to that area for reports that a motorcycle had struck a vehicle. Investigators later said that a 22-year-old man was driving a black motorcycle westbound on Bertrand Avenue at the same time that a 44-year-old woman was driving a grey Subaru SUV southbound on Crockford Boulevard. They say the Subaru made a left turn on to Bertrand Avenue and collided with the motorcycle. The person operating the motorcycle was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the vehicle, meanwhile, remained at the scene. The investigation is ongoing by members of Traffic Services. Bertrand Avenue between Warden Avenue to Thermos Road is currently closed as police investigate. Police are asking people in the area to consider alternate routes.
