The Saskatchewan Huskies continue to receive more accolades for high-powered performances this season. Receiver Daniel Wiebe has been named the Canada West Player of the year. Charlie Parks was named Outstanding Lineman, Seth Hundeby took home the award for Outstanding Defensive Player, and Scott Flory has been named Coach of the Year. It’s the third time Flory has been named Coach of the Year over the last eight seasons. Wiebe had a record-setting season, leading the league with 60 receptions, 929 yards and 11 touchdowns. He also set a single-season and all-time program record for touchdown receptions. Wiebe also came close to setting two conference records for receptions amd touchdowns. The long-time Huskie, who was selected by the Saskatchewan Roughriders in the 2025 CFL draft, is the Huskies’ first Canada West Player of the Year since Mason Nyhus received the honour in 2022. Hundeby, himself a 2025 Roughriders draft pick, 41.5 tackles and three sacks, along with three forced fumbles. He was also the only defensive player in the conference to record five turnovers this year. For his play Hundeby was also named a two-time Defensive Player of the Week, in addition to being recognized as a Canada West All Star. On the defensive line, Parks led the conference with five sacks and was tied for the most tackles for loss with six, in addition to 23 total tackles, a forced fumble and a fumble recovery. The Huskies held a spot in the top ten national rankings the entire season, and locked up the number one seed in the Canada West playoffs. The Huskies are now focusing on the Regina Rams, as they host their provincial rivals in the 88th Hardy Cup at Griffiths Stadium Nov. 8.
